Dr Fran Ramsay was educated at the University of Queensland and has over 14 years experience in the field of obesity management. Fran was the medical coordinator at a multi-disciplinary weight management clinic for over 12 years in Brisbane. In 2009 Fran started work as a Bariatric Medical Practitioner working alongside a number of surgeons in Brisbane, performing pre operative assessment of patients interested in bariatric surgery including gastric banding, sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass patients as well as providing long term post operative follow up of bariatric patients including gastric band adjustments. Fran is a member of the RACGP National Faculty of Specific Interests- Obesity Management Network.
In mid 2015 Fran relocated to Hobart, Tasmania. She is passionate about providing education and support in the community with regards to prevention of diet related disease. Fran is the Tasmanian ambassador for That Sugar Film as well as the Hobart Jamie Oliver Food Revolution Ambassador. She has two websites that offer free resources for families and schools to help inspire a change in lifestyle towards eating real food.
